And you may think, “does that mean we can have a full Blu-ray batch?” The answer is, of course, yes. All episodes together, and episodes 1-4 re-encoded with the same settings as the subsequent volumes (10-bit instead of 8-bit). But not only that, you also get Blu-ray extras! What kind of extras? These kind of extras:

• Creditless OP and EDs
• Scans of booklets, jackets, sleeves, postcards included with each volume, and discs
• Blu-ray menu images and music
• A compilation of promotional videos for the anime and the Blu-ray sales (not translated)
• A compilation of animation sketch clips that were used as backgrounds for sponsor segments that played after the OP and ED in the original TV broadcasts (which I cut out, so you wouldn’t know they were even there)
• And last, but certainly not least, soundtrack/radio/drama albums that were included with each Blu-ray volume: Each CD includes several BGM pieces from the show’s soundtrack, one radio show segment, and one in-character voice drama (these are also untranslated)

I’ve been particularly enjoying the soundtrack, which I was listening to while working on this release. The creditless OP/EDs and sketches are pretty cool too. The sketch clips themselves are actually a bit of a callback to the Nagato Yuki-chan manga, which would have small & humorous rough sketches by Puyo in between chapters, and I was kind of sad that for the TV broadcast episodes, I had to keep cutting them out. Being able to include them without the sponsor message overlays, here at the very end, is kind of like icing on the cake.

P.S.: In other news, I’m building up a backlog of translated manga chapters. Several chapters of L’Oiseau Bleu, several chapters of Omaera Zenin Mendokusai, and I’ve taken over translation duties for Sanctuary Fellows as well, which will hopefully put an end to its 8 month dry spell.
