Yuki-chan Batch

Many small things needed to be changed with the early episodes in order to make this series fit for batch release, since I did a fair amount of learning in the beginning of the project – especially episodes 1-3. Hopefully, things should be much more consistent now. A specific list of changes:

  • Episodes 1-11 were re-encoded from raws in order to make encoding settings consistent (CRF17 10-bit h.264/192kbps AAC).
  • Episodes 2, 3, and 11 required simple re-timing to match their new encoding.
  • The very beginning of episode 1 received some re-timing just to fix the mess I made of it before I knew anything about timing.
  • Episodes 1-4 received updated OP karaoke lyrics (as they were released before the OP single’s release).
  • Episodes 1-3 received updated default subtitle styling, to be consistent with the subsequent episodes.
  • Chapter definitions were changed to be more consistent, and some received typo fixes.
  • In earlier episodes, hyphens (“-“) were changed to en dashes (“–”) when used to denote a character trailing off or being cut off mid-sentence (grammatically, they should actually be em dashes, but en dashes look better in Aller). Also, the romanization of Asakura’s name was changed from Ryouko to Ryōko (this is a compromise for people who may know her as Asakura Ryoko from the original Haruhi series, even though Ryoko is undeniably the least accurate of the three romanizations).
  • Some small translation tweaks and typo fixes were made in early episodes.
  • I made a custom edit of the EpicAwesomeness typeface, used in the OP karaoke, to include a → glyph. In episodes before 16, this glyph was used in the OP, but not actually defined in the font, so it would just use a fall-back font. Now, the → in the OP will look as though it belongs.
  • The titles of episodes 2 and 8 were changed.
  • Episodes 1-15 also received new hardsub encodes, to incorporate all these changes.

  2. Thank you for the great work. There is a small problem in the “normal” batch, ep. 2 and 3 seem to be copies of ep. 4 and 5.

  3. Are you planning to do more anime subs? I really enjoyed these subs, and would happily follow your group again if you do an anime I like.
